Woolworths own-brand.  Cheap and cheerful, early '70s example before the days of the Alpha-Plus with it's Goodies-lettering logo.  I've never played it, so I don't know what that scrawl really means...

...and speaking of the Alpha Plus!  This little beauty is from around 1976.  You can't see it in the scan, but the halves of the cassette shell have a 1 and 2 stamped into them, which saved them having to do a seperate label for each side of the tape.  Clever, huh?  Cutting costs is the mother of invention, at least when it comes to Woolies...  The scrawl on the back is interesting :-

Winfield Alpha-Plus Cassettes feature specially treated oxide tape.  These cassettes are warranted to be free of defects in parts and workmanship only, and carry no other warranty express or implied as to suitablilty for intended use or otherwise.  The user assumes all risks of intended use and shall determine the suitability thereof.  Made in Portugal.

Sounds a bit strong, even if it doesn't make perfect sense...

Step forward a couple of years, and out goes the cuddly font, replaced with something looking at least 6 years out of date.  Bloody Tomorrows World with Raymond Baxter, that is!  'Improved Standard' it says, so that probably means the above two were shite...
